MarkeTECH Conference 2013: Connecting Marketing and Technology
Motivational speakers, great learning opportunities and fantastic networking time were promised for the GROW Nebraska MarkeTECH 2013 and they delivered all of that and more to an audience of over 100 small businesses and entrepreneurs on June 12 in Omaha. The theme of this year’s conference was Connecting Marketing and Technology. Speaker Mark Carson, Fat Brain Toys, kicked the event off in high gear with the inspirational story of how their business grew from a basement office to an international company in 10 years. Audience comments included "appreciated [hearing] the real world experience of a successful Nebraska company."
Learning opportunities throughout the day were offered by Rod Smith and Kelly Grace from Volano Solutions, Steve Maly of Maly Marketing, Mike Bitter from Affordable Social Media, Mark Haner with Yahoo!, Paige Cahill from Constant Contact, Dora Cunningham with Preferred Popcorn, and a panel from the Omaha World-Herald including Dave Storey, Jamie Kinnard, and Lowell Miller. GROW Nebraska, CEO Janell Anderson Ehrke shared GROW Nebraska program highlights.
Presentations included use of specialized software, incorporating social media into marketing plans, consideration of exporting, and highlights of services and programs. Resource providers shared their expertise and programs during networking breaks. This event truly highlighted opportunities for small businesses to learn about programs and services to help their companies increase their markets.
